Machine, EAR, Yuro Stars Remain Unbeaten

Entering the final day of the State of Hockey Showdown, each Invite division has a clear frontrunner.

At the 2003 level, Machine Orange remains unbeaten at 2-0-1, scoring a win over the Wisconsin Bucks by a score of 5-1 before tying OS Cattle 4-4 in the nightcap.

With the wins, Machine Orange will face OS Cattle in tomorrow's championship game at 12:45, played at Bloomington Ice Garden.

OS Cattle squeaked into the championship game with a record of 1-0-2, and finished with one more point in the standings then Sanford Power (SD).

Undefeated Euro American Red will square off with Tommy Chicago Green in the title game of the 2005 Division in a rematch of a Pool Play matchup on Saturday. Euro American Red cruised a 7-2 win in that game, paced by Connor Steljes' Hatty and a pair of goals by Beck Picconatto.

The Northern Wings and Magicians Red will play for third place in the 2005 Division.

Both the Yuro Stars and the Manitoba Spartans have registered 17 goals in three Pool Play games thus far in the 2007 Division, and the teams will meet in Sunday's final.

The Yuro Stars wield an unblemished 3-0 record, highlighted by a 6-4 win over the Spartans in the first game of the Showdown. The Stars edged Tommy Chicago Green 4-3 and Euro American Red 7-5 to earn a spot in the title game. Manitoba downed Euro American Red 7-0 and Tommy Chicago Green 6-5 to take second place in the pool.

Ben Mickett's clutch play between the pipes helped Magicians Red to a win over the Northern Wings.
