Sunday's Finale Cemented In Rosemount

Saturday's slate of games is now complete, and Sunday's championship contests and third-pace competitions have been finalized for the 2019 Leprechaun Days tournament at The Pond in Rosemount.

In the Squirt B/C Division, the Wildcats will take on the Knights, with both teams easing into the finals with over 70 goals scored through four games. The Wildcats defeated the Southwest Metro Sharks twice on Saturday by scores of 21-8 and 17-2. Leading the Wildcats in scoring is Bennett Mackenzie with 14 tallies, while the Knights are paced by Joey Stewart and his 15 total goals. To get to the championship game, the Knights have won three straight games since losing to the Wildcats 22-10 in their first match.

With four of the Squirt A Division's leading scorers, the Ice Cats cruise into the SQA final with a record of 4-0. The Ice Cats have earned two wins over their future title-game foe, Green Dash, during their streak. Brandon Lunneborg leads both the team and the division in scoring with 20 goals. Ben Williams and Jake Palen both have eight goals through Saturday to lead Green Dash (2-2) into the championship bout.

The Peewee Division final will feature the Lucky Pucks and the Knights of Rochester, with the Lucky Pucks already having a win over the Knights of Rochester in the bank. The Lucky Pucks won their first two games of the tournament 13-11 and 13-12, evidence that a close score doesn't spell danger for the team. Benny Rutzick leads the Lucky Pucks in scoring with seven goals. Bennett Pronk and his team-leading 15 goals have powered the Knights of Rochester into the finale. The Knights of Rochester carry a 2-2 record in the title game.
