For the final act of her prep career, Vivian Jungels swept the three most prominent postseason awards for girls' high school hockey in Minnesota.
Already named Ms. Hockey and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Metro Player of the Year, Youth Hockey Hub is proud to select Jungels as the 2022 Girls High School Player of the Year.
Arguably the favorite for all three awards entering the season, Jungels did nothing to relinquish that belief during the 2021-2022 campaign, culminating in a third-place finish at the Class AA State Tournament after falling to Lake Conference rival Minnetonka in the semifinals.
This season, Jungels notched 16 goals and 48 points for the Hornets, making her the storied program's career leader in assists with 124 and points by a defender with 177 over her four years on the Edina backend. She finishes her Hornet career with two state championships and three appearances in the state title game.
Next fall, Jungels will continue her hockey career and her education at the University of Wisconsin.
In four consecutive Class AA State Tournament trips, Jungels earned finished first twice, second once, and third once.
