Mackenzie Jones leads the list of 13 players we think will grab early attention from D1 schools

The Lucky 13

Mackenzie Jones, Andover

On Thursday, June 15, juniors-to-be girl hockey players can have their first recruiting contact with NCAA coaches. Players are allowed to communicate via phone, teleconference or email until August 1. On August 1 they are allowed in-person visits and take tours of the schools they have interest.

YHH did a podcast in May that gave future recruits a taste of what to expect on Day 1.

Here are some players from Minnesota we think will garner a lot of early attention.

Defense

Mackenzie Jones, Andover

Many consider Jones to be the number one recruit in the state. Her IQ, body length and overall talent check every box a top D1 school desires.

Courtney LIttle, Andover

If Jones is #1, Little is 1A. Courtney had 25 points in 31 games for the Huskies in her sophomore campaign. Last summer, she and Jones were the only two 15 year-old players chosen to the USA Hockey National Camp.

Josie Skoogman, Hill-Murray

Skoogman is one of the best skaters in the 2025 class. She has a great passion for the game and has the ability to shut down the best player on the opposing team every night.

Payton Remick, Roseau

FORWARD

Mercury Bischoff, Grand Rapids-Greenway

Bischoff has long been one of the best players at this age. In her four high school seasons, she has amassed 234 points, including 136 goals in 99 games. Bischoff has great speed and a filthy pair of hands to match her quickness.

Hannah Christenson, Andover

A great puck handler who makes plays with and without the puck. Christenson had 45 points in 61 games as an underclassman for the  Huskies. Her speed and ability around the net is what will attract D1 coaches.

Maya Engler, Andover

Engler had a great Final 54 festival this past spring in Blaine to top off her first two years for the Huskies. Engler used her speed and tenacity to a nearly point a game production as a freshman and sophomore (57 points, 61 games). Engler could be the first forward in the class to commit.

Sawyer Fleming, Shattuck- St. Mary's

The Rochester native is one of the harder players in the country to play against. Skilled with speed and vision, she also plays the game with a rare edge to her game that will make her a highly targeted recruit. Sister Delaney is already committed to Ohio State.

Zoe Lopez, Orono

Lopez is one of the more attractive forwards in the 2025 class. Her size and ability to put the puck in the net has to have caught the eye of the top programs. Zoe pumped in an impressive 38 goals last season for Orono!

Makayla Moran, Apple Valley

Moran is the human highlight reel.  Each game she plays it is a guarantee you will see Moran have three plus scoring opportunities. In four high school seasons for the Eagles, Moran has filled the net 119 times and garnered 208 points. She is on pace for 300 career points skating in the South Suburban Conference.

Macy Rasmussen, Orono

A very talented forward that has seen her stock rise a lot over the last year. She has 86 points in three seasons for the Spartans. Macy has the ability to make plays as well as score in clutch situations for Orono.

Ruby Rauk, Minnetonka

If you are looking for a nearly point per game player, fierce competitor and someone who is hard to play against on every shift. Then, Ruby Rauk will be a perfect fit for your team. Ruby has 43 points in 52 games for Minnetonka and is not afraid to go into the dirty areas of the ice.

Payton Remick, Roseau

"Never bet against a Remick." YHH has learned that when you bet against Peyton, she will prove you wrong. Left off of the recent national camp roster, Remick will come back even stronger next year. The multi-sport star has had 68 points in her last two seasons for the Rams.

Mercury Bischoff, Grand Rapids-Greenway

Goalie

Layla Hemp, Minnetonka

Not much has to be said about Layla Hemp. She was one of three goalies chosen for the U18 world championship team. Her athleticism and ability to win games for her team sets her apart from the other goalies in this class.
