Bemidji State (0-2) 

Bemidji State went 5-30-1 last season, with two of those five victories coming in a season-opening sweep of Lindenwood University. 

The Beavers will have to scrounge up two more victories somewhere in the schedule to match last year's total after falling twice to the Lions in Maryland Heights, Mo., over the weekend. 

Taylor Nelson and Gabbie Hughes scored for BSU in the opening game, with Abbie Thompson stopping 30 of 33 shots. The Lions scored twice on seven power play chances in game one, with BSU going 0-6 with the player advantage. Lindenwood scored twice in the first period and once each in the second and third for a 4-2 final score. Hailey Armstrong scored the lone goal of the game for the Beavers, the lone tally in a 4-1 loss. 

The Beavers will host RPI on Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 in their next games. 

Minnesota (0-0) 

The Golden Gophers are ranked No. 3 in the most recent USCHO Women's Division I poll and will start their season hosting RIT in a two-game series on Oct. 6 and 7.

Minnesota Duluth (0-0) 

The No. 7 Bulldogs will open the season against Long Island University this weekend. 

Minnesota State (0-0) 

Can the Mavericks' recruiting trail momentum spill onto the ice? 

Minnesota State picked up three verbal commitments from the Class of 2025 last week, with Benilde-St. Margaret's forward Kendall Hassler, Rosemount's Sophie Stramel, and Apple Valley's Makayla Moran verbally pledged to the purple. 

As for the on-ice part of the game, the Mavericks travel to Fairfield, Conn., for a two-game series with Sacred Heart this coming weekend.

St. Cloud State (2-0) 

After some coach shuffling during the offseason (Mira Jalosuo to PWHL Minnesota, Gentry Academy's Billy Hengen to the SCSU bench), the Huskies hung 10 goals on Union to open the season, lending some (early) credence to SCSU's No. 13 ranking in the USCHO poll.

Emma Gentry led SCSI with two goals and an assist in game one, while Bemidji State transfer Ella Anick handed out three assists. Dayle Ross, Grace Wolfe, Katie Kaufman, and Avery Farrell all chipped in a goal in the win for the Huskies. 

In game two, Farrell and Anick each recorded two points, with Farrell netting a pair of assists and Anick scoring his first goal of the season and registering her fourth helper of the weekend. Laura Zimmerman, Klara Hymlarova, and CC Bowlby also scored in the win. 

Up next for the Huskies is a two-game set at Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa.

St. Thomas (2-0) 

It's early, and Franklin Pierce isn't exactly a national championship contender, but the Tommies' 12-goal outburst to open the season is reason for optimism. 

A four-goal second period powered the Tommies to a 7-2 win over the Ravens in the weekend's opening game. Freshman Ella Boerger scored her first two collegiate goals in the win, and single goals came from Abby Promersberger, Ellah Hause, Haley Maxwell, Nicole Vallario, and Keara Parker. Claire Casey and Alyssa Kawa were the goal-scorers for Franklin Pierce. 

The Tommies spoiled a rockstar performance by FPU goaltender Jill Hertl in the weekend's second game, scoring three times in the third period to pull away for a 5-2 victory despite Hertl's heroic 48 saves.

First collegiate goals came for UST's Rylee Bartz and Maddie Brown, while Abby Promersberger and Ella Boerger scored their second and third goals, respectively. Maddie Jurgensen also scored for the Tommies.

Alyssa Kawa scored both goals for the Ravens, giving the Mercyhurst transfer three of the team's four goals on the weekend. 

UST will host Lindenwood this coming weekend.
