Bemidji State (0-11-1) 

We'll keep it short and bittersweet this week. 

Ohio State came to town and handed the Beavers losses of 9-1 and 5-0. Kayla Santl scored BSU's lone goal of the weekend. 

Right now, it's a race to Christmas break for the Beavers, but not before they get Minnesota State (RV), No. 4 Minnesota, and St. Thomas in successive series. 

No. 4 Minnesota (7-2) vs. Minnesota State (2-8) 

The fourth-ranked Golden Gophers edged the Mavericks 3-1 and 2-1 over the weekend, equaling and then eclipsing 1-0 deficits in both contests. Abbey Murphy, Nelli Laitinen, and Ava Lindsay scored in succession after Whitney Tuttle put Minnesota State up 1-0 on game one for the 3-1, punctuated by the Mavericks' 0-5 mark on the power play. Lucy Morgan stopped 33 shots in the win for Minnesota. 

In game two, Lauren Zawoyski spotted the Mavericks the 1-0 lead in the second period before Emma Kreisz scored six minutes later to even the score. Maddie Kaiser scored the eventual game-winner in period three for the win. 

The Golden Gophers have this coming weekend off before traveling to the Twin Ports for a series with Minnesota Duluth. Minnesota State will take on St. Thomas in the annual U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game on Thursday night at the Maple Grove Community Center. 

No. 7 Minnesota Duluth vs. St. Thomas (4-8) 

UMD's Reece Hunt scored twice in the Bulldogs' 3-1 win over the Tommies in the opening game of the series, ruining an impressive 32-save performance for St. Thomas goaltender Maggie Malecha. The Tommies' lack of success with the player advantage (0-7) also played a critical role in the loss. 

Mary Kate O'Brien, Hanna Baskin, Olivia Wallin, and Mannon McMahon each scored once in game two's 4-0 win for the Bulldogs, and Eve Gascon posted a 26-save shutout. 

As mentioned above, the Bulldogs will take on No. 4 Minnesota on Nov. 17 and 18, while the Tommies will play in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game on Wednesday night. 

No. 10 St. Cloud State (9-4) 

The Huskies fell twice to top-ranked Wisconsin last weekend by scores of 4-2 and 5-2. Senja Voigt and Alice Sauriol scored for the Huskies in the series-opening loss, and Sauriol also scored the following night in the 5-2 defeat. Katie Kaufman scored the other goal for SCSU in Saturday's game, a tilt that featured three third-period goals for the Badgers. 

Up next, the Huskies will face St. Thomas on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18 in a home-and-home series. Game one will be played in Mendota Heights on UST's home ice, and then the team will square off at 1 P.M. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
