2010 Thursday Recap

Little Caesars 14, Myhro Hockey 4

Score early and score often is an easy motto to follow when you have a team loaded with skill like Little Caesars, and the Motor City's finest lived up to the directive with 14 goals in the opening game of the USEL season.

Colin Kennedy scored six times for Little Caesars, followed by Aiden Kelly's four tallies as the driving forces behind the win. Cole Sipotz, Ben Slavick, RJ Thompson, and Sam Tanguay added singles goals for Little Caesars.

Ronan Wilson, Sam Lee, and Alex Guo marked the scoresheet for Myhro Hockey in the game, which spun out of control for Myhro Hockey despite being within two goals of Little Caesars earlier in the contest.

Ice Exchange 6, Select Development Program 4

Typically, a 37-save performance deserves top billing at the end of a game. However, when you score four goals, your name is the one that goes up in the proverbial lights.

Devan Stokes scored twice in the second and twice more in the third to lead Ice Exchange to a 6-4 win over SDP, with Alexander Annunziato and Lev Smotkin combining for the aforementioned 37 stops. Ivan Belikov and Michael Shook also chipped in goals for Ice Exchange.

Maverick McKinnon scored two goals for SDP in the loss, with Austyn Maleport and Zane Medlin each scoring once.

2011 SDP's Colton Nash (left) registered a goal and an assist in Thursday's win over Ice Exchange.

For Ice Exchange, Easton Reichardt and Mason McGovern were the goal scorers.

Myhro Hockey 2, Boston Selects 2

Jacob McDewitt's goal early in the third period forced a 2-2 tie for the Boston Selects on Thursday after Myhro Hockey carried a 2-1 lead into the final period. Quaid Iannitti scored the first goal of the game for the Selects.

The swift-footed Peter Lyden and Edward Karaban scored the goals for Myhro Hockey in the tie, which also featured standout goalie performances from Boston's Brody Dickinson and Myhro's Carlo Sanfilippo and Ryan O'Leary.
