The Tournament Committee for The BIG Pumpkin is proud to announce the field for this year’s event.  Four tough pools, including teams from all over Minnesota including a top team from Wisconsin.  Division A features likely Number 1 rated Edina, always tough Lakeville South, traditional power White Bear Lake and District 10 juggernaut Elk River.  Division B is also a great set of four teams. Number three seed Wayzata headlines this pool with Chaska Chan who has a ton of talent and Rosemount who will surprise no one this year and finally late entry Forest Lake who replaced River Lakes earlier this week.

The bottom two pools look to be extremely well balanced, with no clear cut favorite amongst those eight teams. Sibley, the number two seed has a great core of kids that return from a great A team last season. Andover, Sibley and Brainerd all had great Squirt A teams two years ago. Each have a few name players and a few role players looking to break out.  The last division is the D division, the D stands for Death.  All four teams will be very strong this year. Number four seed Superior has a great team coming to the Twin Cities, as does Osseo Maple Grove’s group at this age class.  Early reports out of Prior Lake suggest that they will also be tough to beat at the Pumpkin.  And never count out a team from the 218. Brainerd has a great group of kids including the hard working Andres Triplets.

Should be a fun weekend of hockey to kick off the PeeWee AA season.  Best of luck to all teams.
