Last week Jordyn Tomaszewksi had her Goalie equipment stolen from the back of her mom’s truck.  Over $2,000 worth of equipment taken and worst of all on the eve of her U14 tryout in Blaine.  Not to mention the loss of the equipment and potential cost, their was huge sentimental value to a few of the items.

We saw this story on WCCO the other night and posted it to our Twitter account (@youthhockeyhub).  Thinking nothing of the story other than the obvious “ugh, how could someone possibly do this?” I retweeted (re-published) the story to our 500+ Followers. What happened as a result was quite amazing.  Equipment manufacturers, sporting goods stores, and people reached out to YHH and WCCO to support Jordyn and her cause.

Within minutes of the posting, Gongshow apparel company had contacted us about helping Jordyn.  Total Hockey and Hockey Giant reached soon after and loyal reader to our site also said he wanted to help.  This was within 2 hours of one Tweet on Twitter!

In the coming weeks we hope to help Jordyn replace her equipment, but more important, help find the person who would steal her stuff. The photo to the right is a list of the equipment she had taken.  If you see anything remotely close to this equipment at Sporting Goods store or on line, please report the activity to the Sherburn County Sheriff’s office at  800-433-5245.  The equipment was taken in St. Cloud, but at this point could be anywhere nearby.

In the coming weeks, we hope to report the successful replacement of this gear and hopefully a the retrieval of her old gear as well.

If you would like to help Jordyn, please send us an email to editor@youthhockeyhub.com and we will help facilitate your contribution.
