Edina, lead by Grant Silianoff and Jett Jungles will be one of four #1 seeds heading into the BIG Pumpkin next Fall.

Youth Hockey Hub is excited to announce the The BIG Pumpkin PeeWee Invitational Tournament held at Bloomington Ice Garden (BIG). The invite-only 16 team tournament will feature the top teams from Minnesota, the top team from North Dakota and the top team from Wisconsin. Fully sanctioned by USA Hockey, Minnesota Hockey and the Bloomington Amateur Hockey Association, The BIG Pumpkin promises to be one of the season’s best PeeWee Tournaments.

Held the weekend prior to Halloween (October 24-27, 2013), The sixteen team tournament will be broken into 4 pools, with each team playing three games, with the Pool Winners advancing to the final four. Pools will be assembled by a team’s preseason ranking, with each pool seeded by that ranking (yes, next year North Dakota teams will be part of the YHH Now Rankings system). The tourney winner will take home an oversized golden pumpkin as it’s prize.

Teams verbally committed to The Pumpkin are (in District Order): Roseville, White Bear Lake, Osseo Maple Grove, Wayzata, River Lakes, Edina, Eden Prairie, Chaska/Chanhassen, Prior Lake, Lakeville South,  Rosemount, Sibley, Andover, Elk River, Superior, WI, Brainerd. To get your PeeWee AA/A team onto the waiting list of the event, simply send us an email at editor@youthhockeyhub.com

Edina PeeWee AA Head Coach, Jeff Johnson, when asked about The Pumpkin said, “I can’t wait ’til October…this is going to be a great tournament.” We couldn’t be happier to have these 16 teams in our field, what a great opportunity to see how far these kids have come in the past year or so.

Three of the four projected number 1 Seeds (alphabetically) are Edina, Grand Forks, and Sibley. To see our pre-season PeeWee Top 10 from last year click here…please don’t open if you live in St. Michael, Albertville, St. Cloud, Chaska, or Chanahassen.
