Arguably the best 15 year old Minnesota hockey player Alec Baer has officially become a member of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL (aka The Dub). Forgoing his final 3 years of high school and a chance at a high end Division 1 scholarship and education, Baer has set his course for one track: Pro Hockey.
Last Spring,  YHH followed Alec as he became a member of the Minnesota Team at the High Performance

Select 15s (read the article here).  We knew then that Alec had a bright future.

“We are extremely excited to have Alec join our team and we are hoping to have him in the line up before the end of the season,” said Giants’ Executive Vice President & General Manager, Scott Bonner. “He will be a great addition to the Giants. Having Alec sign with us is a big step in the right direction for the team.” In his

2011-12 season, Baer played varsity hockey as an eighth grader for St. Louis Park High where he tallied 27 points (13 goals and 14 assists) in just 23 games and tied the St. Louis Park team lead with five game-winning goals. Baer participated in the Giants’ Rookie Training Camp last August and finished camp as the leading scorer.

YHH Says: It’s frustrating to watch a top end talent like Alec leave Minnesota to find greener pastures.  We wish him the best of luck
