It’s not every weekend that a team from out of state comes to the metro and sweeps three top teams in two days.  Two of them against top five teams in the same day.  But this is not an average team of girls.

In the morning, they played Stilwater a well coached and very talented team.  Tied 1-1 after two they scored four goals in the third to win 5-1.

After lunch, they headed north to play Forest Lake.  Forest Lake was undefeated, with two ties and a roster full of great players. They lead 2-1 heading into the final period and fought off a furious charge from the Rangers to win it 2-1.

YHH thought winning three games in two days was “improbable”..boy were we wrong.  While at their game Saturday, I was reminded that my 1 sentence offered them motivation to win. News spread of their victory all over the country.  I got a call at home late Sunday from one proud Grampa wanting to remind me never to count out a team from Brainerd.  Lesson learned.
