It was fitting that the Sugar and Spice U10A Final would not be decided in regulation. Both Cottage Grove and Stillwater had impressive treks to the finals.

The Wolfpack wearing white got up early 2-0 with a couple pretty goals. But from that poi

nt on the Ponies took over…Lauren Einan scored two for the Ponies to tie it 2-2. But just when you thought the momentum was theirs, the Wolfpack answered to go up 3-2…leaving Stillwater no choice to tie it and send it into overtime.

Overtime went fast. Literally. Having to stay punctual, the Tournament organizers made the extra sessions Running Time. One 4 on 4 session, tied. One 3 on 3 session, tied. Onto the shoot out where Jocelyn Veary from Cottage Grove showed why people always say she is “Veary” good. The Wolfpack won when the 9th shooter scored and Veary ended it with a victory stop for her team.

A great display by both teams. Kudos to both teams and coaches.
