PeeWee teams in action all over Minnesota

A lot of great action at the PeeWee level this weekend...league games, non-league games, and of course tournaments.

The Lumberjack Cup final four is set, undefeated Rochester will play Eastview (who beat Forest Lake and Sartell) and undefeated Duluth East will take on Jefferson (who beat Stillwater and St. Cloud). Looks to be a red and black final between East and Rochester.  YHH will broadcast the championship live Sunday from Stillwater.

Grand Rapids is hosting a nice field of teams in PWA/AA.  Roseville has gone 3-0 (beating Grand Rapids, Bemidji and Rosemount) and will take on Woodbury (who won games vs. Bemidji, Sauk Rapids and Grand Rapids) for the championship. Edina "A" had a tie with Mahtomedi on Friday, the Hornets also knocked off Rosemount AA on Saturday.

Moorhead AA beat #1 PWA rated Alexandria 4-3 on Saturday.  Brainerd came south and beat Elk River 4-3 Saturday night and head north Sunday to take on Superior.

Champlin Park knocked off highly #9 ranked Eagan yesterday 1-0.  Nice win for the Rebels.

Edina PWAA takes on OMG Sunday at Blake in a rematch of last Sunday's Sprit of Duluth Final where Edina beat the Crimson 6-4.

Minneapolis PWAA knocked off #3 ranked Orono in league play 4-2. Delano beat Mankato in "A" action 2-0 and Warroad beat Fergus Falls 6-1.

In PeeWee B, #3 Wayzata Blue coming off a tough loss to Orono, took on #1 and undefeated North St. Paul.  Wayzata won 5-2.  YHH was there and taped the game. My apologies to the Polar and Trojan fans, due to some technical difficulties, we were unable to broadcast the game Saturday. A recording of the game should be live today. The Trojans are a fun mix of big boys (Riviere, Sanders and Ransom) and water bugs (Leuthner, Hoogenakker, and Podiak). They outplayed a feisty North St. Paul team that never quit.  Their star Kory Pilarski had a lot of nice plays, but couldn't find the twine.  The Polars have a really nice team, they will contend at PWB all year.

Minneapols Purple and Edina Green skated to a 2-2 tie and OMG Crimson beat Eagan Green 3-2 in more non-league matchups of top teams.
