MN Hockey Teams of All Ages and Sizes made 3,000 Sandwiches

Each year The Sandwich Project of Minnesota reaches out to churches, youth groups, sports teams, families and businesses and facilitates the making and delivering of nearly 400,000 sandwiches to local homeless shelters and low income food shelves.

Last year and this year, The Sandwich Project has put on the The Hockey Helpers event. Reaching out to local hockey teams to gather to make a large number of sandwiches.

This year 25 teams showed up Saturday morning to make 3,000 sandwiches.  The most kids came from Edina, Osseo Maple Grove and Bloomington.  But there were all kinds of teams including an all Women's team called the Lucky Pucks who showed up and made their mark.

There was a young group of boys from Minneapolis (the Oilers) and some older girls from Lakeville and Farmington that showed up.

The Sandwich Project was extremely thankful and amazed at the great support the MN Hockey kids show every year toward their great cause.
