Alexandria leads a list of Bantam A teams we think will be headed to Regions in March

BA Regions: Who is Going, Who is Going Home

Minnesota Hockey distributes it's Bantam A, Bantam B, PeeWee A and PeeWee B Regional seeds in a pre-determined manner every four years. Here is our best guess on who will be headed to Regions by Region and by District.

West Region

District 15- Alexandria, Moorhead and Detroit Lakes

District 10- St. Francis, Blaine and Andover

District 16- East Grand Forks and Crookston

East Region

District 8 - Farmington, Cottage Grove and Apple Valley

District 9 - Mankato, Northfield, Faribault

District 6 - Edina and Bloomington Kennedy

South Region

District 3 - Mound Westonka, Orono and Wayzata

District 4 - Luverne, Litchfield and Marshall

District 5 - Sartell and Litchfield

North Region

District 2 - Tartan, Highland Central and Stillwater

District 12 - Greenway, Virginia and International Falls

District 11- Duluth East and Hermantown

Commentary: All four of these regions are tough ones. The South Region has Mound Westonka, a highly skilled team, and also Orono. That region will be the strongest one out of the all of the BA regions. Last year, Sartell won the South regional tournament and did not allow a goal. They will be looking for another tourney win. The North has Tartan ( #1 team in Minnesota as of 12/27) and Highland Central, who won the Lake Superior Classic in Duluth. The West region consists of two northern districts, district fifteen and sixteen. In the Northern districts, Alexandria, Moorhead, and East Grand Forks will be tough to beat. St. Francis is also paired in that region and will be ready to play. The East region has Edina, always a team to watch out for, and Mankato will also be a strong team in the tourney.

Sleeper Teams

Bloomington Kennedy

Moorhead

Greenway
