Wayzata Navy, coached by Glen Prodahl, had a Miracle on Ice moment against the Edina Hornets. Wayzata was down 5-3 with 46 seconds left in the third period and the Trojans called a time out. Coach Prodahl told the team the game was not over and they could score two goals in the time left. Pulling goalie Matthew Prondzinski they put 6 players on the ice. The Wayzata team worked together and Alex Bach scored leaving 19 seconds left in the game. Then the miracle happened, with .09 seconds left on the time clock, Ty Gardner scored to tie the game 5-5!

The teams went into a 4 on 4, five minute overtime with no scoring. They then moved to a shootout. Waytaza won the shootout 1-0 with a goal by Charlie Ankeny and Matthew Prondzinski stopping all three Edina shooters.

Wayzata B1 Navy is now the 2014 Winter Classic Champions!
