Jefferson beats STMA: The co-host Jaguars got off to a fast start when Grant Ellings got two quick goals and then later added a goal early in the second period to give the Jags a 4-1 lead and get the hat trick. Jefferson was too much for STMA, who put up a good fight for the first half of the game but ran out of steam once the game got into running time halfway through the second period. Jefferson has some great offensive weapons in Ellings, Brady Burton and Brett Herbert.
Final Score: Jefferson 10, STMA 2
Edina outlasts Stillwater: In the second game on rink 1, Edina wore down Stillwater after what appeared to be a very close game for most of two periods. It was tied 1-1 late in the second when Henry Whitleff scored with 32 seconds left on the Power Play for Edina.
In the third period it was all Edina. They put up an amazing 15 shots on goal and six unanswered goals. The highlight goal came when Evan Pahos took a pass in the slot and fired a shot just inside the top crossbar to make it 5-1 and seal the Stillwater fate.
Final Score: Edina Green 8, Stillwater 1
Burnsville Stuns Minneapolis: In a great back and forth battle, Burnsville got on the board with two goals 30 seconds apart one by Ryan Welsch and the other by Dalton Lutz to give the Blaze a 2-0 lead. Minneapolis would battle back when Hans Backes got a rebound goal early in the second to cut the Storm's lead to 2-1. The two teams would trade goals, with Minneapolis scoring with a minute left, to get it within one. The Storm pulled their goalie but were not able to mount much of an attach in the final minutes.
Final Score: Burnsville 3, MPLS 2
