Prior Lake moves on in SQA and OMG shows why they are the Favorite

Seven more games were played Thursday night at Bloomington Ice Garden. Four of the five A games went to Running time with a couple by large margin.  One of the best games of the night was between Rosemount and Forest Lake. A nailbiter that had Rosemount holding on to win 2-1 over the Rangers. Another tight game saw Eden Prairie Red, winners of the Eden Prairie Tournament a couple weeks ago, take on Edina Black.  The Eagles out muscled the Hornets to a 4-3 win.

Prior Lake by virtue of their 11-0 win tonight over Sibley advanced to Bracket Play. Osseo Maple Grove looked impressive in their 5-0 win over a scrappy and well coached Apple Valley team.

Game Summaries

SQB: Eden Prairie Red > Edina Black, 4-3: a very evenly played game that could have gone either way. EP was a little too much for the Edina. Eli Jackel had a goal (GWG) and an assist for the Eagles.

SQB: Chaska Chan Purple > Apple Valley, 6-1: Apple Valley scored first (Devin Britt), but CC answered with six more of their own, including a hat trick by Micah Hutchings.

SQA: Eden Prairie > Eagan, 7-0: EP got two goals in the first minute to set the tone. Carter Batchelder had a pair of goals for the Eagles.

SQA: OMG > Apple Valley, 5-0: The top ranked Crimson scored 11 seconds into the game and dashed Apple Valley's hope for an upset with two in the first period. Brock Faber added two goals for OMG.

SQA: Rosemount > Forest Lake, 2-1: A hotly contested game that went down to the wire. The Irish got the game winning goal when Will Norris knocked one home early in the second period. A rare misconduct was assessed for a checking from behind in this game.

SQA: Prior Lake > Sibley, 11-0: Matt Beaty had his second hat trick in as many nights for the Lakers. Riley Dueber and Cole Pearson added a pair as Prior Lake advances to Bracke Play on Sunday.

SQA: North Branch > MPLS, 9-2: Tucker Sachs had four goals and Joey Kerchner had a hat trick plus an assist for the Vikings...as they cruised to an easy win. Coleman McNally had both goals for the Storm.

Thursday Heroes

Matt Beaty, Prior Lake: 2 hat tricks in 2 days, this kid has amazing ability.

Tucker Sachs, North Branch: 4 goals in one game, there are a lot of kids who won't score 4 all year.

Joey Kerchner: 3 goals and an assist for the Vikings...Bloomington Ice Garden has to be this kid's favorite rink.

Brock Faber, Osseo Maple Grove: 2 goals including a goal 11 seconds into the game to set the tone for the Crimson.

Griffin Streed, Eden Prairie Red: Scored the first goal for the Eagles and really helped establish a physical presence for the Eagles.

Micah Hutching, Chaska Chan Purple: his hat trick helped propel his team to six unanswered goals in the second and third period versus Apple Valley.
