A view of the intense atmosphere at Bloomington Ice Garden on Sunday

A Great Day for Hockey

A fantastic day of hockey at Bloomington Ice Garden.  The final four teams in A and B were decided and the finalists for the C were decided as well.

First in the C Bracket, Park Cottage Grove got past Eagan 4-2 and Minnetonka beat Sibley 9-1 to gain the finals. That game can be seen live on YHH at 10:45 am.

The B Pools got wrapped up today and for Semifinalists were decided. Edina Gray won Pool A going 3-0 (nice call Bill Doll). Prior Lake won Pool B by beating Eagan today. Eden Prairie Red knocked off Joliet this morning to advance to the Bracket Play and the Cylcones from Geneva, IL got past Chaska Chan 4-1.

Early Monday, the Cylcones will take on Prior Lake on Rink 1 and Edina Gray will take on District 6 foe Eden Prairie Red for a berth in the Championship at Noon.

SQA: Quarterfinals

Brock Faber goes 5 hole...

Game 1: Osseo Maple Grove knocked off Eden Prairie 4-0 to advance to the Semifinals. Ethan Elias and Chris Kernan each had two points for the Crimson.

Game 2. Edina White came out buzzing (first Hornet pun of the weekend), getting four goals from Charlie Lindberg who came up big for Edina (second pun, it' must be getting late), they rolled 8-2 over St. Cloud. The Huskies first loss of the year.

Game 3: White Bear knocked off the owners of their only defeat of the season Chaska Chan, 4-1. Ryan Sweeney tied it afer Ben Reddan scored for CC early and then Chaz Lucius got the go ahead goal and WBL never looked back winning 4-1.

Game 4: A nominee for best game of the tournament. A great back and forth game. Prior Lake lead after 1, 2-1. But Edina scored three in the second to lead 4-3 heading into the third. The game looked to be in hand for Edina until Sam Rice tied the score with 56 seconds left with a pretty five hole shot to tie it 4-4. Early in the overtime, Nicholas Williams got to some open space and fired a high wrist shot past a screened Prior Lake goalie for the win for Edina.  Edina Green will move on to face White Bear Lake early on Monday morning.
