This weekend, February 8-9, at the 29th O’Connor Hockey Tournament at Braemar, ASPIRE Beverages will be hosting the ASPIRE GREAT MINNESOTA SHOOTOUT youth hockey skills (shooting) competition with a fun, interactive game that involves shooting pucks at 9 lit-up panels in a regulation-sized goal.

The competition will be open to the public on both Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 4PM. On Saturday, from 11AM to Noon, Dan Brooks will be at the ASPIRE tent with the “Miracle on Ice” 1980 Olympic gold medal that was presented to his father, the legendary coach Herb Brooks. Attendees will be able to take photos with the gold medal.

The cost to participate is only $2.00 per player and proceeds benefit the Edina Hockey Association and the Herb Brooks Foundation. Each participating player will receive a free bottle of ASPIRE FIRE, ICE and STORM sports drink with a chance to win additional prizes including ASPIRE pucks, hats, shirts and Swanny’s necklaces. The Top 40 players in each division will qualify to compete for bigger prizes (and glory) in the championship to be held at Xcel during the boys state high school hockey tournament in March.

There will be ASPIRE GREAT MINNESOTA SHOOTOUT qualifier events each week at high school games and youth tournaments until March. For more information, leaderboards, and a schedule of events, go to: www.greatMNshootout.com

To greatness!
