Hockey Fans posing with the Fargo Freeze mascot

A big morning for District 15 (Northwest/Central Minnesota) this morning. Detroit Lakes with arguably the biggest upset of the first round, knocking off Jefferson 3-2 in OT. Little Falls knocked off Minot 3-2 at SSA and advanced to play White Bear. Alexandria knocked off Rosemount 3-1 at the SW Rink in Fargo. Moorhead beat Devils Lake 4-3 in a nailbiter. Brainerd beat the Denver Junior Pioneers 4-3 to make D15 a perfect five for five. Then Fergus Falls lost to the Colorado Rampage 4-3 at the Little Shop of Horrors called Sunmart.

YHH got a chance to see Minntonka play Hermantown Friday. The Skippers outlasted the Hawks 7-4 in a rematch of the Orono Squirt A Championship game where the Hawks won. Minnetonka's Hunter Newhouse (the next in many great Newhouse hockey players in the west suburbs) had 4 goals for the Skippers. Impressive for the Hawks were Aydyn Dowd (#6) and Aaron Pionk (#9). *NOT ALL SCORES REPORTED YET...YHH WILL ADD AS THEY COME IN.
