#1 Rated Hornets Strike Early and Cruise to 6-1 win.

Tyler Nanne scores off of the stick of a Stillwater defender to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead.

Edina's Speed and Experience too Much for Stillwater

Tyler Nanne sparked #1 seeded Edina with four goals including two that weren't even shots on goal. The good fortune was well earned riches for the Hornets as they swarmed Stillwater early and won 6-1. Nanne a defenseman said later, "his luck is usually the opposite."

The turning point in the game came when Edina's Alec Oesterreich was called for Hooking in the middle of the first with the Hornets up 2-0. With the Ponies on the Power Play, Dylan Malmquist got a loose puck in the neutral zone and darted toward the Stillwater net. Just has he did in the section final versus Jefferson, Malmquist scored pretty shorthanded goal to give his team a lead that they would not relinquish.

Moments later, while on the power play, Nanne got his third of the game on a pretty back door feed from Malmquist to give Edina 4-0 lead after one.

Edina was content to play out the string and play an even game with the Ponies. Brandon Jungmann scored for Stillwater, Casey Dornbach and guess who (?), yes, Nanne added his fourth of the day to get the Texas Hat Trick.

Edina advances to take on the winner of Duluth East and Eagan winner on Friday night.
