Game 1: Little Falls v. Minneapolis Purple. Little Falls comes in with 38 wins on the season and Minneapolis is one of the most dangerous teams in Minnesota. The Storm has shown signs all year of being a top team with several big wins. The big question for them is if they can be consistent across a three game stretch. If Theo Moore can score early for Minneapolis, we like the Storm to advance to the semis.
The Call: Minneapolis over Little Falls
Game 2: White Bear Lake v. Eagan Blue. Coach Steve Oczak has the Bears playing about as well as any team in Minnesota right now. Watch out for Ben Boldt and Tony Rossini for the Bears up front - their attacking style of hockey will give Eagan trouble. Eagan winners of 24 games this year come into state with a nice second place finish in the very tough East Region behind Edina.
The Call: White Bear Lake over Eagan
Game 3: Wayzata Gold v. Blaine. Blaine has been one of the top teams in Minnesota all year, amassing 40 wins in 50 tries. Wayzata Gold has been the hottest team in Minnesota winning 11 straight games heading into State, winning District 3 and the South Regional in Brooklyn Park.
The Call: Wayzata over Blaine
Game 4: Edina v. Mahtomedi. The Hornets and Zephyrs are the two highest rated team in the state coming into the tournament and they face each other in the first round. Watch out for Mark Overman from Edina, he is a dynamic player for the Hornets. Mahtomedi is a dangerous team with 30 wins on the year, several top wins to their credit. This might be one of the best games of the day no matter what the level.
The Call: Edina over Mahtomedi
