The consolation championship game was the fourth meeting between these two District 6 teams.  The Skippers have beaten the Lakers twice (5-3 and 3-2) and lost once 6-5.  Minnetonka finished second in D6's eight team peewee AA league two points ahead of Prior Lake.  Both teams posted similiar records in league play (Skippers 9-3-2 and the Lakers 9-4-1).  After 45 plus games, both these teams ended their season playing a good game.  The Lakers won 5-4 in a hectic finish.

Prior Lake got off to a slow start.  At one point, a Tonka player had his stick hung up and managed to kick the puck to the a Skipper in the left crease for a quick shot on goal.  Three minutes into the game, #11 passed to #17 in the low left crease and he top shelf the puck to Tonka up 1-0.  The lead lasted less than a minute.

Prior Lake's Kashmark scored to tie the game 1-1.  Wilson got the assist.  Minnetonka was succeeding on making the breakout, but taking the shot from the blue line.  At the four minute mark, Tonka had a great chance to sneek the puck in from the low right side

A cross checking penalty a minute later put Prior Lake on the power play.  Thirty seconds later, a second cross checking put the Lakers in 5-on-3 power play.  The lakers never lost the zone, controlling and moving the puck, but they couldn't score until Stocker ended up with the puck at the top of the right crease.  Stocker's backhander somehow went in the net to put Prior Lake up 2-1.  The period ended 2-1.  Shots on goal were even 8-8.

This Tonka goal was ruled no goal, the net was off the crease.

Minnetonka opened the period with a rushes that again featured shots on the goalie from just inside the blue line.  One of the shots came off the leg pad into the high slot where the Laker's Stocker picked up the, skated the length of the ice and buried the puck to score unassisted and put the Lakers up 3-1.  Tonka retaliated a minute later.  This time, Cole Wilson scored low to cut the lead to 3-2.  Will Crull and Clay Hanus got the assists.

Two minutes later, Tonka drew a penalty.  Prior Lake set up in the Skipper's zone and Kashmark and Stocker worked the puck low.  This time Kashmark got the goal.  Stocker and Nathan Green got the assists.  Prior Lake led 4-2.

Play settled down after that score for the next five minutes until Prior Lake drew a hooking penalty.  The Skippers set up in the Lakers' zone and moved the puck to the left point for a shot.  The puck trickled of the goales' pad along the left side of the net and was tapped back in off the goalie's skates by Mason Hendrickson to cut the lead to 4-3.  Cole Wilson and Grant Doctor got the assists.

A Tonka penalty with just under two minutes left in the period put the Lakers on the power play.  A second penalty put the Lakers on a 5-on-3.  The period ended with no score and Prior Lake up 4-3.  Tonka would still be on the penalty kill for the first 30 seconds of the third period.

Tonka quickly killed the remainder of their 5-on-3 penalty in the opening minute of the third and then began their attack.  For the rest of the period, most of the action was in front of the Prior Lake net.  Tonka had their chances but never got the bounce.  The key play in the third came when a Tonka shot beat goalie Cade Kujawski but ended up trickling behind him in the crease.  The Lakers defenseman, Carter Hansen came behind Kujawski and batted the puck out the crease by the goalie to the only opening available keeping the Skippers from tying the game.

Tonka kept the pressure on and with 90 seconds left pulled their goalie.  Ten seconds later, Prior Lake's Jackson Jutting shot the puck from center ice into the net.  It was an unassisted goal and it turned out to be the winning goal.  A minute later, with 25 seconds left in the game, the Lakers drew a penalty.  Eight seconds later, Minnetonka's AJ Kittelson scored to cut the lead to 5-4.  Tonka could not do anything in the final 17 seconds.  Prior Lake won.
