Brick team falls to Boston Twice, but is closing the gap

Team Minnesota began an eight week practice and game schedule in early May leading up to the Brick Super Novice Tournament in Edmonton at the end of June. The team announced it's roster in March and began practicing in earnest in early May. Their first set of games was played last weekend in the Boston Showdown. The Boston Jr. Bruins (Brick) and the Connecticut Yankees (Brick) each fielded a team along with several other elite programs from both the US and Canada. 

Team Minnesota played seven games winning five and losing two. Eventually losing to Tourney Champion the Boston Jr. Bruins 3-1 on Sunday.

The team got better as the tournament progressed...players that stood out were Isaac Howard and Gavin Brindley up front and a strong defensive corps lead by Ryan Chesley for Team Minnesota.

Up Next

This Friday, TM takes on the Winnipeg Jr. Jets (Brick) in an exhibition at the Super Rink on the campus of the National Sports Center at 7:00 pm. YHH is hopeful to be broadcasting and covering these two teams as they prepare for the Brick this weekend. Stay tuned for an announcement.

After this weekend, the team will be begin preparation for the North American Hockey Classic in Winnipeg in mid June which fields an impressive field of Brick and Non-Brick teams. From there, they will continue final preparation for the main event in Edmonton.
