The video report was recently sent to me by one of our readers (thank you). The video does a good job of showing how nearly 100 rinks on the east coast will adopt a new 40 inch orange line around their rink in hopes to prevent future head and neck injuries.  

Earlier this month, the Thomas Smith Foundation made a push at the June USA Hockey meetings to have all rinks require this line. The motion did not pass, but the discussions were fruitful enough for more talks long term to continue.

As reported in this video, hundreds of rinks on the east coast are scheduled to change their surfaces this year.
