New Wisconsin USHL team with Minnesota ties

The Madison Capitols will begin their first season in the USHL this Fall. A daunting task in the nation's best Junior Hockey League. Kicking out hundreds of Division I and NHL players each year, the league expanded to familiar territory in Madison. An original charter member to the USHL, the Capitols will put down stakes in the Alliant Energy Center (formerly the Dane County Colliseum).

The team's ownership group includes Tom Sagissor (former Hastings/UW Badger), Tom Garrity (former MN Wild Executive), and Ryan Suter (MN Wild). Garrity has been involved with several pro sports entities including the Wild, Houston Aeros, and Phoenix Coyotes. Most recently he was with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL. Sagissor and Suter bring the capital (pun intended) and great hockey knowledge to the team.

In the coming days YHH will feature a series of videos the team released to promote their team. The first is a brief video on what lies ahead for an expansion team in Junior Hockey.
