Crimson win first ever Velocity Team Tourney title

Carson Nagel with one of his 44 Saves Sunday for Maple Grove

Many things have always been certain for Maple Grove in Velocity 3v3 tournament, at all levels. They are great skaters, they move the puck well and they seem to always finish second. This year the skating and puck movement were still very present, but this year they weren't the team that skated off with second place as the Champions got the prize.

Winning their pool by going 4-0, they beat Pool Favorite Centennial 17-16 on Saturday when sniper Trevor Kukkonen scored a last second goal. They also beat Eden Prairie, Elk River, and Chaska Chan.

In the Championship Game they outlasted Tourney Favorite Minnetonka 17-11. Ripping off seven of the last eight goals of the game in the last 10 minutes. Unheralded Maple Grove Goalie Carson Nagel stopped 44 shots and Tyler Borsch had 5 Goals to lead the Crimson to the title.
