The YHH PeeWee Challenge showcased several top players from all over Minnesota. They stood out with talent, they stood out with effort, and some even stood on their head. Here are the 10 girls who were selected to our All Tournament Team.
Josie Bothun, St. Paul - had an incredible weekend in the nets for the Gophers, was steady when they needed steady and was a walking superlative when they needed it.
Lily Delianedis, Edina - gritty and very skilled player who battled all weekend leading scorer in the tournament.
Sophia Doll, Edina - had bar down, game winning goal in dramatic fashion for the Mavs in their Championship Game win.
Lauren Einan, Stillwater - had three goals including game winner Friday against the Bulldogs Friday night.
Grace Johnson, Hopkins - great skill set, rushed the puck and made some great plays for the Bulldogs.
Mannon Mcmahon, Maple Grove - an imposing player that made her mark every time she hit the ice.
Margaret Nicholson, Minnetonka - one of the most physically impressive players on the ice in the entire tournament. Shot the puck like no other player in the tournament.
Maiah Robert, Mounds View - outstanding speed and puck control skills...has unlimited potential to play at the next level.
CeCe Ziegler, St. Paul - last but not least, a superstar with amazing hand eye coordination who has a very bright future.
MVP: Kensie Malone, Armstrong-Cooper - great speed, dynamic skater that played with an edge. Scored big goals for the Mavericks.
