Orange team heads to 'ship versus Grey next Saturday

Game 1: Orange beats Yellow in Shootout

The Minnesota Magicians Red Black Fall High School League Semi Finals were held at Richfield Ice Arena Saturday afternoon. Those in attendance witnessed two spectacular games as both semis went into shootouts. In the opener first seeded Orange survived 5-4 over Yellow. Orange was lead by the League's leading scorer Curtis Hansen (Prior Lake HS), who had one goal and two assists, Connor Clemons (Prior Lake HS) had one goal and one assist, Ryan Murray (Prior Lake HS) with one goal and one assist and Blake Bartizal (Prior Lake HS) one goal.  Yellow was lead by Kyle Bouton's (Elk River HS) two goals, and Steve Heron's (Centennial HS) two assists.  In the shootout, Drew Scites (Prior Lake HS) stole the show stopping all yellow shots.  Curtis Hansen and Austin Langworthy (Mankato West HS) each scored in the shootout to send Orange to the championship.

Game 2: Grey outshoots Teal to advance to Finals

In the second semifinal, Grey rallied from a 3 - 1 deficit, to force a shoot out and were victorious 5 - 4 over Teal.  Grey was lead by Brett Boldenow (Eden Prairie HS) with two goals and one assist, and Tommy Schmid (Shakopee HS) with one goal and one assist.  Teal was lead by the Lakeville North duo of Chaz Dufon and Max McGlade, each with two goals.  Michael Niederer (Mound HS) assisted on two of his linemates goals.  In the shootout, Sean Durocher (Eden Prairie HS) slammed the door and stopped all of the Teal shootout attempts.  Shootout goals for Grey were scored by Tyler Rock (Holy Family HS), Tyler Scott (Breck HS) and Josh Hallum (St Thomas Academy HS), sending Grey to the November 1st championship game at Richfield versus Orange.  The game will be played prior to the Minnesota Magicians/Janesville Jets North American Hockey League game.
