Who comes home from Roseau with the Hardware?

Rosemount's Mitchell Kohner scores this year vs. Wayzata.

Griffin Streeter will need to come up big for the Skippers this weekend in Roseau

This weekend will be a busy one for hockey fans in Minnesota. From the YHH Squirtacular in Bloomington, to Hockey Day Minnesota in St. Paul, and all the way up north to Roseau for the Dick Johnson PWAA tournament. The Dick Johnson Peewee AA tournament features five teams that are in the top ten on the NOW Rankngs. This sixteen team tournament will have some tough battles, which only one winner will be crowned at the famous Memorial rink on Sunday. Let's see which team that will be.

Pool A: Roseau, Hermantown, Blaine, and Chaska

Preview: The top two teams in this pool will be Blaine and Chaska. They have played each other twice this year, with Blaine winning both meetings by only one goal. The Bengals are lead by the Lucius brothers (Chaz and Cruz) and Brandon Benson between the pipes. Also keep an eye on Carsen Richels, a fast and powerful skater. Chaska has been playing great lately. They recently have big wins over White Bear Lake right before the New Year and Edina this week. Roseau will be looking to make a mark in their home barn. They have had a tough season, but they are looking to turn it around now. Hermantown was tested early in the season versus a very tough Minneapolis Storm team, which they lost to by one goal. The Hawks are a physical team that won't give up. Look for them to shine in Roseau.

Pool A Final Predictions: 1- Blaine

                                           2- Chaska Chan

                                           3- Hermantown

                                           4- Roseau

Pool B: Brainerd, Grand Forks, Stillwater, and Eden Prairie

Preview: Stillwater has been tested a lot this season. They have a good portion of losses, but those have all been against skilled teams. Stillwaer will be one of the better teams in this tournament. Brainerd has only put together five wins this year but that doesn't mean this squad won't shine at this tournament. The Warriors had a tight game vs Edina "A", losing by one goal. Grand Forks is the only team that is outside of Minnesota in this tournament. They are 4-5-1 vs Minnesota teams, with W's over Crookston, Eagan, River Lakes, and EGF. Grand Forks will be looking to represent North Dakota well. Eden Prairie got a huge win over Chaska (5-1) and a good win over Grand Rapids (3-0). The Eagles are always a fear to teams, and they sure will be this weekend.

Pool B Final Predictions: 1- Eden Prairie

                                           2 - Stillwater

                                           3 - Brainerd

                                           4 - Grand Forks

Pool C: Warroad, Grand Rapids, White Bear Lake, and Minnetonka

Preview: Warroad will take the short trip to Roseau looking for some big wins. Warroad hasn't been put to the test yet this year, and this weekend could be a big break for the boys out of Marvinville. White Bear Lake has a lot of potential in this tournament. Players like Lleyton Roed, Billy Rose, and Luke Ahles will all be dangerous for the Bears this weekend. The other orange and black colored team in this pool is Grand Rapids. The Grand Rapids Youth Hockey Program is always producing top notch hockey players, as well as teams. Grand Rapids had incredible win over Moorhead (4-3) at home. Minnetonka will look to Griffin Streeter to help carry the team this weekend.  The Skippers need to come out flying to get past these tough teams.

Pool C Final Predictions: 1 - White Bear Lake

                                           2- Grand Rapids

                                           3- Minnetonka

                                           4- Warroad

Pool D: Moorhead, Duluth East, Osseo - Maple Grove, and Rosemount

Preview: Moorhead has gotten off to a great start this year. They have won two tournaments already, and are looking for a third. Moorhead is lead by Caden Triggs, Luke Gramer, and Wyatt Gunkel. Duluth East has had a few solid wins this year, including a victory over White Bear Lake (3-2). OMG is a very talented squad. Justin Janicke, Brandon Reller, Brock Faber, and goalie Parker Slotsve look to rise this team to the top. Osseo-Maple Grove won this years Big Pumpkin tournament, which is an incredible accomplishment. Rosemount was my predicted best Peewee team for this year. The Irish won the Eden Prairie tourney earlier this year, by defeating Chaska Chan (2-1) in the championship. This pool will be fun to watch.

Pool D Final Predictions: 1- Rosemount

                                            2 - Osseo - Maple Grove

                                            3 - Moorhead

                                            4 - Duluth East
