The Favorites are challenged but they still hold the cards

Eden Prairie's Jackson Blake could score over 20 goals in the YHH Squirtacular

Squirt A

Rochester's Tyler Haskins could be the difference on Saturday for the Reds

Pool A: Rochester and Andover battle tomorrow for top spot in A. Minnetonka tied top rated Andover, meanwhile Rochester cruised winning 6-0 in both of their games. Should be a great game Saturday.

Pool B: OMG and Lakeville South will also take the ice for B title Saturday. OMG fought back and tied a scrappy Arizona team Friday, keeping the OMG SQA streak alive for another day. LVS won both (3-2 over AZ and 6-1 over WBL)

Pool C: Woodbury escaped with a gutty win Friday over Prior Lake 3-2. They need a win over Madison Saturday afternoon to advance to Final 8.

Pool D: Mahtomedi cruised to two easy wins over Jefferson (6-0) and St. Cloud (5-1) on Friday. They need a W over Champlin to advance. A loss will leave them at the mercy of the Tiebreaker Gods.

Pool E: Chaska Chan and Hermantown both won both Friday setting up a do or die game Saturday night. The Hawks got a late goal to beat Stillwater and CC won both of their tilts with relative ease (7-2 over PCG and 7-0 over Stillwater).

Pool F: Edina White emerged Friday as the favorite to advance to the Elite 8 with wins over Lakeville North (5-2) and previously unbeaten Mound Westonka (4-1). The Whites need a win over MVI to advance on Saturday afternoon.

Pool G: Eden Prairie put up an amazing 24 goals in two games on Friday including 11 goals by Jackson Blake (that is 1 short of a dozen)! Rosemount will need a valiant effort to stop Blake and the Eagles on Saturday night. A win for the Irish gets them a spot in the Final 8.

Pool H: Edina Green and NSP Revolution both won setting up a great play in game Saturday. Both beat Grand Rapids and Sartell...two teams that showed a lot of promise on Friday. NSP has a great system and some star power that Edina must take seriously if they are going to advance.

Projected Final 8

A: Rochester (upset pick) B: OMG C: Woodbury D: Mahtomedi E: Chaska Chan F: Edina White G: Eden Prairie H: NSP Revolution

Squirt B

Can Edina Black hold off Rosemount on Saturday?

Pool A: OMG and Geneva both won their games with EP Red and Lakeville North, setting up an epic battle on Saturday. Neither showed signs of dominance Friday suggesting that this might be the game of the day in the B's.

Pool B: The Junior Coyotes and Edina Grey blasted through the first day winning big over District 8 foes LVS and Sibley. Should be a great play-in game Saturday. The '05 'Yotes will be tested by the Grey's size and experience advantage.

Pool C: Rosemount lead the C Pool, but their is still a lot of meat on the bone for the Irish to advance. They will face a big and strong Edina team Saturday on the big sheet (BIG 3). Edina beat Jefferson and Minneapolis Friday.

Pool D: Prior Lake and Mahtomedi both took care of business beating Blaine and Farmington - both will need to bring their best on Saturday to hit the big time on Monday in Richfield.

Projected Final 4

A: Geneva B: Phoenix C: Rosemount D: Mahtomedi

Squirt C

Hoffman Estates is the team to beat in Squirt C

Pool A: Farmington squeaked out two wins over Jefferson and KC. They control their own destiny Saturday with a win over Minneapolis. Three teams still mathematically alive going into Saturday.

Pool B: Rosemount White and Cottage Grove both won big Friday and will battle for District 8 bragging rights and a spot in Monday's Final Four. Should be a great game between two high scoring offenses.

Pool C: Hoffman Estates won both games handily on Friday. The Wolfpack have a date with Edina on Saturday for a berth in the Final 4.

Pool D: Defending Champ Minnetonka Black outscored their opponents 14-1 on Friday and need a win over Sibley Gold to advance. Can they repeat? Tune into YHH to hear their story.

Projected Final 4

A: Farmington B: Rosemount C: Hoffman Estates D: Tonka Black

You can take a boy out of Edina, but you can't take the Edina out of a boy!
