Five teams are battling it out for a bid to the Northern Regional Tournament. While the temps outside as low as 20 below, these teams brought the heat and came ready to play. The top three teams from this tournament will advance to Regions held in Alexandria, MN Feb 27-March 1.

International Falls got off to a great start with a 8-2 win over Grand Rapids. I Falls forward Brayden Dremmel had a pair of goals along with a pair of assists. Teammate Kian Gonzales also chipped in two with goals and two assists.

In the first semifinal game, two teams separated by four miles on Highway 169 was the best game of the day in either the PeeWee A or PeeWee B tournament. It was a heated game between rivals Eveleth/Gilbert and Virginia. Virginia took a 5-0 lead after the first period playing on their home ice. Eveleth/Gilbert collected themselves and began to lean on their top players to build a comeback for the ages...scoring five goals of their own to tie the score 5-5 after 2. The Bears took their momentum into the third and won 8-6. Eveleth forward Alex Haas had a pair of goals along with an assist. Elliot Van Orsdel also had a pair of goals and an assist for the Bears. With the win Eveleth advances to Regions and will face Greenway in Sunday's D12 Championship game.

Playing 2 games in the same day, International Falls came up short in their with a 6-3 loss to Greenway. Greenway forward Mitchell Vekich earned the LottzaMotzza POTG award for his Hatty and an assist. Teammate Cameron Lantz helped lead the Raiders with a goal and three assists.

Virginia defeated Grand Rapids 5-2 on Saturday night and will advance to Sunday's Third place game against I Falls for the final spot to the North Region in Alex.

PeeWee B - Hibbing

Ely and Eveleth Gilbert advanced to regions in Ely on Saturday. The Wolves beat International Falls 9-1 and the the Bears knocked off #2 seed Mesabi East in their games at the Fairgrounds in Hibbing.

In the single elimination play-in games, Virginia beat Greenway 9-2. International Falls beat Hibbing 6-1 and Mesabi East beat Virginia to set up a do/die matchup Sunday morning for a berth in the Ely North Regional.
