Today, ASPIRE Beverage Company and the Herb Brook Foundation announced that the ASPIRE Great Minnesota Shootout Championship will be held at the Let’s Play Hockey Expo in the River Centre during the Boys Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7:

The Great Minnesota Shootout is fun skills competition series that has been underway since October with qualifier events held throughout the 2014-2015 season at youth hockey tournaments and high school hockey games;

The youth divisions for the competition are Mite, Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam, Junior Gold/High School and Girls Open;

A full schedule of events and leader boards with the Top 50 qualifiers in each division is available at the Website.

The final chance to qualify for the Championship will be open to the public at the Hockey Expo in RiverCentre during the Minnesota State Boys High School Hockey Tournament on Friday, March 6, from 10am to 6pm

The Top 50 qualifiers in each age group (division) will compete in the Great Minnesota Shootout Championship at the Hockey Expo in RiverCentre during the Minnesota State Boys High School Hockey Tournament on Saturday March 7, from 10am to 5pm

The champions of each division will receive a custom-fitted pair of BAUER hockey skates, a “Silver Stick” autographed by Ryan Suter, a trophy and other prizes.

The competition consists of players that shoot pucks at nine lit-up panels inside a regulation-size hockey net with a goal to hit all nine of the targets in the shortest amount of time

The cost to play is $2.00 per attempt and there is no limit on attempts per player

All participants receive ASPIRE and BAUER gear
All financial proceeds are being donated to the Herb Brooks Foundation and the host hockey organizations.
“With more than more than seven-thousand participants during the 2014-2015 hockey season, the Great Minnesota Shootout has become a fun and available new tradition in our youth hockey community,” said John Montague, Co-Founder and Chief Aspiration Officer of ASPIRE Beverage Company. “While providing an added attraction at hockey tournaments and events, this event has raised thousands of dollars for the Herb Brooks Foundation and local hockey organizations.”
