Cougars roar past Huskies to take VFW Title
Centennial celebrates their VFW State Title
After falling in the MN State Tournament two weeks ago, the Centennial Cougars became VFW State Champs on Sunday defeating St. Cloud 5-1. Lucas McGregor had 2 goals and Carter Wagner added a goal and assist to lead the Cougars to a four game weekend sweep. On Friday they beat Moorhead 4-3 in overtime on a McGregor goal and then on Saturday, McGregor did it again with an unassisted snipe to beat Grand Rapids in a triple overtime thriller.
On Saturday night they were able to keep tourney leading scorers Matthew Fischer and Jack Evens to one goal and win 3-1. Rollie Carlson lead the Cougars with a goal and an assist. And finally, on Sunday they completed the perfect weekend scoring 5 Goals on St. Cloud's Keegan Karki who had been tough all weekend for the Huskies.
