Griffin Streeter was a legend last Fall in the Velocity 3 v 3...he will wear a Maroon sweater this week.
As players complete their first four years of competitive youth hockey, the end of PeeWees and the beginning of Bantams is a very important time of development. Two years ago, five players were chosen Wiz Wyatt Player of the Year Finalists: Grant Slukynsky (Warroad, Winner), Bobby Brink (Chaska), Zach Michaelis (Elk River), Kyle Heffron (Rosemount), and Tyler Oakland (Maple Grove).
This past year five new players were selected as finalists. This means two things. One, there are a lot of great players in Minnesota and on any given day there are 30-40 great choices for these awards. The other is, each of these ten players all had exceptional seasons...all ten had more than 50 point seasons. Bobby Brink had six goals in one period and lead his team to state. Grant Slukynsky was a key reason the Warriors went to the state final, he is a remarkable player.
