1. Neal Broten is one of the most celebrated hockey players in Minnesota's hockey rich community. He was the first American skater to eclipse 100 points in a season. He was a winner at all levels except one. Can you name the one major title that eluded him?

Answer: The Minnesota State High School Tournament Title. Broten won an NCAA title (1979, Minnesota), Olympic Gold (1980, USA), and Stanley Cup (New Jersey, 1995).

2. Who is Norm Green and why does he Suck?

Answer: Norm Green was the Managing Partner of the Minnesota North Stars who directed the move of the team in 1993 to Dallas. To date one of the most hated men in the state of hockey.

3. What Minnesotan scored the first goal in Minnesota Wild history?

Answer: Darby Hendrickson (Richfield, University of Minnesota) fittingly scored the first goal in the new franchise's history

4. True or False. Apple Valley beat Duluth East in 5 Overtimes to win the Minnesota State High School Tournament in the finals.

Answer: False. Apple Valley did defeat Duluth East in one of the greatest games in the tournament's great history and did go on to win the state title. But the game was played Friday night (and Saturday morning) in the semifinals. 

5. In 2006, there were four Minnesota born players taken in the first round of the NHL draft. Three went on to play for the University of Minnesota. Can you name  all 4?

Answer: Erik Johnson (Bloomington), Kyle Okposo (St. Paul), Peter Mueller (Bloomington), and David Fischer (Apple Valley). Note: Phil Kessel (University of Minnesota) was also drafted that year, but he was born in Wisconsin.

6. Two Minnesota players won both the Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award and then went on to win the Hobey Baker Award. Can you name them.

Answer: Brian Bonin (White Bear Lake, University of Minnesota) and Marty Sertich (Roseville, Colorado College)

7. One American father and son combination has won the Olympic Gold. Can you name that pair?

Answer: Billy Christian (1960) and Dave Christian (1980). Billy's brother and Dave's Uncle also won gold in 1960.

8. What High School program has won the most state championship titles?

Answer: Edina, 12

9. Name the player who is believed to have been the only player in Minnesota State High School Hockey history to have never lost a game?

Answer: John Mayasich, Eveleth played on team that went undefeated four straight years (1947-1951). Recorded 46 points and seven hat tricks in State Tournament play. Considered the inventor of the modern day slap shot.

10. Only one set of brothers have recorded the goal and both assists on a goal in the Minnesota State High School tournament. Can you name all three?

Answer: Nick Poehling, Jack Poehling, and Ryan Poehling (2014 and 2015), Lakeville North
