2001 Invite

The ’01 offensive explosion anticipated in the title game became a moot point as Tommy Chicago jumped out to a 2-0 lead and finished strong en route to a 4-0 win over the Golden Bears on Sunday afternoon to claim the championship.

Four players scored for Tommy Chicago, as Jake Boltman, Billy Rose, and Mason Wheeler marked the scoresheet.

Tommy Chicago’s Charlie Strobel was named Game MVP after scoring a goal and adding an assist. Strobel finished the Invite with a division-leading 10 goals.

2002 Invite

After Magicians opened the ’02 championship with a goal, Euro American Red rattled off four straight scores to nullify any chance of a Magician comeback.

Euro Red’s trio of Brock Faber, Justin Janicke, and Kyle Kukkonen all registered a goal, and Ethan Elias tacked one on for the Reds in the win.

Faber, a 2014 Wiz Wyatt Award winner, was named Game MVP, after adding an assist to go along with his goal.

Anthony Madigan came up big for the Steeldogs Sunday in their win.

2003 Invite

In what may be the best game of the entire tournament, Total Hockey Fusion edged Steeldogs in overtime, 6-5.

With the score 5-3 with 1:40 left in regulation, Steeldogs’ Ben Davidson scored on a wristshot from the point to pull Steeldogs within one.

1/10th of a second left on the clock, and 2014 Wiz Wyatt winner Tyler Haskins delivers as he has so many other times, slipping the puck past Fusion’s Ethan Dahlmeir to tie the score.

Steeldogs’ elation was quickly cut short, when Game MVP Gabe Kenne scored the game-winner in the slot for Fusion, earning the championship title.

2004 Invite

Top-seeded Steeldogs cruised to victory over Tommy Chicago in the ’04 title game by a 5-0 score.

Steeldogs did not lose a game throughout Pool Play, and the dominance showed in the finals.

Gabe Rasmussen, Jack Strobel, and Brady Ingebritson all scored for Steeldogs, and Game MVP Anthony Madigan scored twice in the win.

Maclain Weasler after TC wins title in Richfield

2005 Invite

The ’05 final rivals the ’03 final for the top game of the day, highlighted by a spectacular goaltending performance by Tommy Chicago’s Maclain Weasler.

Weasler sprawled and stonewalled throughout the game, finishing with 41 saves and propelling No. 3-seed Tommy Chicago to a 4-3 win over top-seeded Euro American Red.

For his efforts, Weasler was named Game MVP.

Despite just generating 11 shots on goal, Tommy Chicago managed four goals from Drew Gullickson, Parker Vogt, Caden Hegarty, Luca Salak.

Euro American Red got goals from Connor Stelljes, Finn Brink, and Dawson Jenson.

2006 Invite

Tommy Chicago broke out of the gates with four goals in the first period, and scored seven goals before Warrior answered, on their way to a resounding 8-2 victory.

Jordan Brothers led the way with a hat-trick, while Danny Lachenmayer, Elijah Lewis, Brayden Kaldenbach, Logan Priebe, and Zachary Woolen recording a goal apiece.

Brothers finished the tourney with a division-leading eight goals.

Game of the Day goes to the '03 Invite final, where Total Hockey Fusion triumphed over Steeldogs in overtime 6-5.

Steeldogs scored twice in the final 1:40 of regulation to tie the game 5-5, including a goal by '15 Wiz Wyatt winner Tyler Haskins with just 1/10th of a second left on the clock, shorthanded.

With a player still in the box, Steeldogs couldn't keep Fusion out of their end, and Gabe Kenne buried a shot in the slot to give Fusion the title.

Through three days, we saw dozens of players that warranted extra attention. Here are a few more.

Maclain Weasler- '05 Tommy Chicago

Weasler's 41-save performance in the finals against a talented Euro Red squad earns this goaltender a spot on any watch list.

Jordan Brothers- '06 Tommy Chicago

Brothers is always dangerous with the puck, and knows when to pass and when to shoot. Finished tourney with 8 goals.

Jack Smith- '02 Euro American Red

Assist master on the ice. Fantastic touch on his passes. Finished tourney with 12 points, second in the division.

Ramsey Bell - '01 Tommy Chicago

Bell allowed only 5 goals in 5 games for TC. Aggressive '02 Goalie who has a knack for making big saves in big games.
