The Bruins beat the Kings 3-2 on Sunday at the Moorhead Sports Center to up their record to four and three. Joe Daninger and Bailey Huber combined for 30 saves to lead the B's to the win.
After the two teams exchanged goals in the first half (Kukkonen - Kings, Brady Meyer - Bruins), the Bruins Sam Wilhite got the scoring started early in the second when he scored in front of the net. Blaine's Will Hillman cleaned up some garbage in front to extend the Bruins lead to 3-1 in the middle of the third. Late in the game, the Kings made things interesting when Tate Stanfield scored on the powerplay set up by Trevor Kukkonen and Ethan Darby.
The Kings effort came up short Sunday, but did not go unnoticed over the weekend going 2-1-1 despite missing stars Nikolai Jensen, Jake Hale and Cullen Vinar.
The Bruins salvaged their weekend going 2-2 and are in second place behind the Bolts with a 4-3 record.

The Wild upped their record to 3-3-1 with a nice 3-2 win over the undefeated Devils Sunday at the Moorhead Youth Rink. Burnsville's Logan Kittleson scored all three goals for the Wild to help his team to the victory. Kittleson had several more chances to score converted when his team needed it most. After leading 2-0, the Devils came out on fire in the second half scoring on the first shot on a slapper by Darian Gotz. Then Hunter Paine scored a few minutes later to tie it at 2-2. The momentum was slowly tipping in the Devils favor.
With just over seven minutes to go, the Devils took a hooking penalty putting Kittleson and the Wild on the PP. After a two pass exchange in the corner with Luke Herzog, Kittleson walked out from the hash mark and put the puck past a screened Ryan Ullan for the GWG.
The Wild hung on from there. Evan Foss turned away 10 shots for the Wild to help them get their record back to .500. The Devils fell to 3-1 for the weekend...they will take on the North Stars next Saturday in a battle of the North Doubleheader.
Logan Kittleson scores one of his 2 Goals Sunday for the Wild
The Lightning beat the North Stars 5-4 Sunday at the Moorhead Sports Center in the final game of the Bantam Elite League. Elk River's Jack Perbix powered the Bolts with two goals and his teammates Mike Vorlicky and Robert Christy each had a goal and an assist.
The game got off to a fast start when the Bolts struck early scoring on three of the first five shots on goal. The Stars dug their way out of the hole and got the score to 3-2 at the half on goals by Alexandria boys Jack Westlund and Ben Doherty.
The Bolts followed form and got an early goal to start the second by BEL league leader Roberty Christy to give the Bolts a 4-2 lead. The Stars would answer when Moorhead native Isaac Howe sniped one past Bolts Goalie Cade Kujawski to narrow the lead to 4-3. Jack Perbix iced the game for the Bolts getting an late insurance goal and they hung on to beat the Stars 5-3.
The Bolts finished the weekend 2-2, leading the league with a 5-2 record. The Stars lost their last two game and fell to 2-2 after winning their first two games. They will take on their Northern rival the Devils next Saturday in Bemidji.
Ryan Antanokis had 2G for the Flyers in their 5-3 Sunday
The Flyers came to Moorhead with only 9-10 skaters depending on the day, but left with three important wins and eight valuable points in the standings. Playing without leading scorers Matt Gleason, Grant Silianoff, and Killian Kiecker-Olson, the Flyers replacement Coach Mike Docter pieced together a good strategy, got some great goaltending and timely goals for a successful weekend.
On Sunday, they held off the Penguins, winning 5-3. Ryan Antanokis had 2 goals including an empty netter at the end to clinch the victory. The game was a seesaw game with both teams trading leads in the first half and early second. Zeph Goret gave the Flyers the lead for good when he scored on a scrum in front of the net give his team a 4-2 lead.
The Pens would make it close when Drew Wilson scored for the Pens on a pretty move where he was hauled down from behind as he was beating the Flyers Goalie. After the great weekend, the Flyers improved to 4-3 and are in third place in the league.

Logan Kittleson - The Wild Forward exploded for three goals and is second on the Wild with seven points after seven games.
Ben Fritzinger - The Wild Goalie tossed up a doughnut stopping the top team of the weekend with 11 saves.
The Alex Boys - Jack Westlund and Ben Doherty tallied 1G and 1A on Sunday. The two have played together for years, Sunday they started to dial it in for the Stars.
Jack Perbix - The Elk River star had two goals Sunday helping lead the Bolts to a 5-4 win over the Stars.

Mike Docter - fill in coach of the Flyers who lead the shorthanded Black and Orange to an impressive 3-1 record, falling 15 seconds short of point in every game.
Robert Christy - tryout BEL player who now leads the league in scoring -- playing in the shadow of big names like Janicke, Perbix and Francis, Christy is slowly making a name for himself in the BEL.
Darian Gotz - the Hermantown D-Man can really play - has no fear with the puck and a cannon from the point.
Aaron Frenkel - has piled up nine points in seven games for the Bruins...a goal scorer who has good hands and a nose for the net.
Sam Karr - the Stillwater Forward had five points over the weekend's four games and was a force below the hashmarks.
Ben Stucker stirring up trouble Sunday against the Devils
St. Paul's Ben Stucker came into the weekend as a substitute player for the Wild. In his three game stint he logged four points for the Wild as they went 2-2. More impressive than his point production was Stucker's grit and determination. After taking two wicked shots off his foot, Stucker kept coming back for more.
With the Wild up by a goal in the final minute and a timeout called, Coach Gerry Anderson selected Stucker to take the ice. The Wild preserved the win diving and blocking shots, one on a rocket by Devils Defenseman Darian Gotz. Anderson was asked after the game who blocked the big shot, he said, "Joey (his son and Assistant) asked who he wanted on the ice for the last shift and I said Stucker, he'll block a shot...tah-dah...he blocked the big one!"
