The 2002 MN Blades have had a great Spring/Summer season to date winning the Stars and Stripes in May and beating every team in Minnesota they have faced. Friday was no different for the Maroon and Black. They took on a feisty and well coached Miracle Gold team Friday Morning in Eden Prairie.

After Miracle Gold Goalie slammed the door for the Gold for the whole first period, the Blades began to roll. Joe Miller pounced on a loose puck and found an open net to get the Blades on the board 1-0.  Six seconds later, Carson Bantle got another goal for the Blades taking the puck off the face off end to end to make it 2-0. After a Bantle penalty, the Gold got on the board on a Power Play Goal by Hunter Jones to cut the lead to 2-1. But after more sustained pressure for the Blades, Bantle beat Swenson on a pretty snipe to give the Blades a 3-1 lead heading into the second period resurface.

In the third, it was all Blades. Cade Lemmer scored short handed for the Blades. The Tomahawk, Wisconsin native busted through the Gold defense and beat Swenson top shelf to take any wind out of the Blades sails heading into the third. Ben Dexheimer would add a late goal on a pretty shot from the point to give the Blades an easy 5-1 win.

The Blades will take on the '02 Machine Orange Saturday morning for the top seed in the top four Bracket Play. The loser will likely face the Euro Red team in the Semifinals.
