Austin Stoneking scores for Lakeville South Friday
Austin Stoneking had a Texas Hatty (4 Goals) for Lakeville South as the Cougars cruised to an easy win over Moorhead Friday afternoon to advance to the Sweet 16 against East Grand Forks. Cade Arenholz and Cam Boche each added a goal and an assist for the Cougars.
Mason Langenbrunner and Cade Anderson each had two goals to lead the Lumberjacks to a 6-4 win over Elk River. The Jacks scored three unanswered goals in the third to beat the Elks in a see-saw game on Friday afternoon. Cloquet will meet Osseo Maple Grove in the Sweet 16 Friday afternoon.
Brady Burton scored in Overtime to lift the Jaguars into the Sweet 16 on Friday. Burton got loose early in the OT and shelfed a shot past the Moorhead Goalie for the victory. Burton finished with a goal and two assists, while first year standout Tyler Grahme had a goal and an assist for the Jags. Jefferson will move on to play St. Cloud on Friday afternoon in the Sweet 16.
JJ Wiebusch lights the lamp for Stillwater Friday
First year PeeWee JJ Wiebusch had a hat trick for Stillwater as the Ponies knocked off defending state champion Prior Lake 5-2 on Friday. Keegan O'Brien and Bailey McGraw each tossed in two apples for the Ponies. Stillwater advances to the Sweet 16 against Apple Valley on Friday afternoon.
Jake Schneider had a Hatty for Wayzata as they took out Roseau 8-3 in their Friday Play In Game in Moorhead. Andrew Goetz threw in two more for the Trojans as they advanced to the Sweet 16 on Friday against Edina. Kellen Murphy had two goals for the Rams and Paul Huglen threw in a goal and two assists. Roseau will play Osseo Maple Grove "A" on Saturday morning in the White Bracket.
Jacob Jeannette had a goal and an assist for Duluth East as they skated past OMG 3-0 to advance to the Sweet 16 against Park Cottage Grove on Friday. The Greyhounds controlled play but weren't able to shake OMG's tenacious play. OMG will take on Roseau on Saturday in the White Bracket.
Cruz and Chaz Lucius combined for 17 points as the Bengals beat Mound Westonka 9-6 on Friday in the Big Pumpkin. Cruz finished with nine points on four goals (Texas Hatty) and five assists. Chaz had four goals and four assists to help lead Blaine into the Sweet 16 against #3 Eden Prairie. Mound Westonka will face Brainerd on Saturday in the White Bracket.
Jimmy Snuggerud had two goals and Gavin Waltz added three assists for Chaska Chan as the StormHawks beat Brainerd 5-1. Snuggerud, the '15 Wiz Wyatt Player of the Year finalist who plays Forward on the CC powerplay converted on two of their four chances up a man. The StormHawks will face White Bear Lake Friday in the Sweet 16...the Warriors will take on Mound Westonka on Saturday in the White Bracket.
