BSM will be a handful this Winter
Rank | Team | Section | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
1. | Eden Prairie | 2 | 2 names is all you need to know, Michael Graham and Casey Mittelstadt |
2. | Edina | 6 | Another very deep group including D1 commits Dornbach, Phillips and Walker |
3. | Duluth East | 7 | Last year's runner-up returns just about everyone |
4. | Lakeville North | 1 | The Panthers won't go undefeated, but they will be very close |
5. | Grand Rapids | 7 | The most talented team in Minnesota (possibly 6-7 Division 1 players on team). |
6. | Hill Murray | 4 | Despite being young Pioneers will be favored again in Section 4 |
7. | Benilde St. Margaret's | 6 | Talented bunch, Scarlet Knights have scoring, defense & great goaltending |
8. | Stillwater | 4 | Two years ago the Ponies made it to State, this team is even better |
9. | Bemidji | 8 | The Jacks are the team to beat in Section 8 this year |
10. | St. Thomas Academy | 3 | Much like Hill Murray, young but very talented group of Cadets |
Always check your rear view mirror, objects may appear bigger
Blaine - with the return of Riley Tufte, the Bengals will return to state out of Section 5.
Wayzata - a ton of talent, will give Edina and BSM all they can handle in Section 6.
Farmington and Lakeville South - both teams have enough talent to knock off bitter rival Lakeville North this year in Section 1.
Prior Lake - very deep team with talent in all three areas of the game...could this be the year the Lakers break out?
Burnsville - the Blaze won't sneak up on many this year. Very talented team...St. Thomas better keep a close eye on this fire.
Hermantown will be king of the hill this year in Class A
Rank | Team | Section | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
1. | Hermantown | 7 | Might be the best team in Minnesota in either class |
2. | Breck | 2 | Best team from the best Section |
3. | Mahtomedi | 4 | Terrific group of players that are trending upward |
4. | St. Cloud Apollo | 6 | Return a lot of scoring and a great goalie |
5. | St. Paul Academy | 4 | Lost in Section final last year, return everyone for run to X |
6. | Luverne | 3 | Only thing small about Cards is their enrollment - could be scholl's best team ever |
7. | East Grand Forks | 8 | 2 time defending champs won't be as deep, but could get hot and three-peat |
8. | Delano | 2 | Lost in OT to get to state last year - this could be the Tigers year |
9. | St. Cloud Cathedral | 6 | Talent and Depth, team might be good enough to win State |
10. | Thief River Falls | 8 | Never trust a Prowler - might be the scariest team in the state |
Detroit Lakes - the Lakers will be a very good team this year. Jon Richards is a once in a lifetime talent, EGF and TRF have their hands full.
New Ulm - if Luverne is Superman, the Eagles are Kryptonite.
Monticello - a school with over 1,200 students and a solid youth program spells trouble for Section 5.
Can New Ulm stop Luverne again this year?
