Zach Sweitzer scores for Rosemount on their Northern swing last weekend
Last Friday, the Rosemount Peewee AA team and their fans loaded the bus and headed north for a weekend up north. With November temperatures in the mid 50's, it was a perfect weekend for a bus ride north to play some hockey in the 218 and across the border into Superior, Wisconsin. The Irish departed Friday headed north and crossed over to Wisconsin for an evening match-up with Superior. After playing Superior, the Irish journeyed back to west on Highway 2 for a Saturday clash with Grand Rapids. On Sunday, the tour headed south with scheduled stops in Crosby and Brainerd for games with the Northern Lakes Lightning and Brainerd Warriors before making their way back to Rosemount. The Irish would go 3-1 on this trip outscoring their opponents 27 to 11 with Grand Rapids being the only blemish of the weekend.
The Friday and Saturday portion of this trip would give the Irish mixed results. On Saturday, the Thunderhawks were not as gracious of hosts as Superior was the the night before. Grand Rapids rung up seven goals in this one and skate to a 7-3 win leaving the Irish 1-1 on this road trip after day two.
