The Lightning came out flying to start the third and were able to tie the game at five when Caiden Kjestrom scored his second goal of the game on a nice wrist shot from the circle.  This is when things got controversial.  After Kjelstrom's goal Otter goalie Ian Stumbo skated to his bench for some instructions from his coach.  While this was going on both teams took their positions at center ice for the ensuing face-off.  The puck was dropped and the Lightning won the face-off with Caiden Kjelstrom shooting the puck into the empty Otter net, drawing cheers from Lighting fans and frustration from the Otter bench.  After discussion the goal was disallowed and the score would remain tied at five.

Fergus Falls took advantage of this call and rattled off three quick goals to go up on the Lightning.  The Lighting would score once more on a penalty shot by Caiden Kjelstom after being hauled down on a breakaway.  In the end the Otters would prevail 8-6 behind Isaac Young's four goals.

Drew Paulbeck scores for the Lightning Saturday

The Lightning came out determined to not have a let down in the second.  They played solid defense limiting Detroit Lakes opportunies and scored twice to finish the period with a solid 5-1 lead.  Detroit Lakes put forth a great effort trying to battle back in the third.  Benjamin Hines opened the scoring  to give the Lakers hope but Zach Ehnstrom's two goals in the period and Beau Engstrom's third to give him a hatty was too much for the Lakers to overcome.  End result was a 8-3 Lightning win.
