Hockey Day provided plenty of outdoor hockey action.  Brainerd and Cloquet Peewee AA's met for the nightcap under lights on the outdoor ice in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Duluth on what was a beautiful day and evening for outdoor hockey.  Cloquet, coming off a win in their home tourney last weekend looked to stay hot against their northern rivals.

The Zamboni kept the ice in great shape throughout the day. The kids pleased the crowd with their spirited play on the ice.  Cloquet's Cade Anderson recorded a hatty to lead Cloquet to a 6-0 win over Brainerd.

The first period provided fans with spirited play as they watched from just over the boards and some from the back of their vehicles as this great outdoor venue for players and fans.  Cloquet's Mason Langenbruner provided the only scoring of the first period in what eventually would be the game winner.  The second period provided more great hockey and a little more offense as Kyle Siiter and Cade Anderson would score for Cloquet to build a 3-0 lead and send the teams to the warming house.

Both teams and fans enjoyed the break in action as they gathered in the warming house for hot chocolate and a "warm up".  After the zamboni was done, they were back at it for the third with both teams playing as if it were a scoreless tie.  The highlight of this period was when both benches emptied and the kids gathered around one of the officials and sang happy birthday.  Cloquet would finish strong scoring three more goals and win 6-0. The score in this one seemed immaterial, both teams were just happy to get their chance on the outdoor sheet on Hockey Day.
