Suzie Higuchi scores for Minnetonka Tuesday
Number 2 Minnetonka beat top ranked Eden Prairie 6-4 Tuesday night saddling the Eagles with their first loss of the season. Their second big win in the last three days, will likely loft them into the top spot. Changing their title from "hunter" to "hunted."
On Saturday afternoon, the Skippers fell to then #2 Andover in pool play of the OMGHA Cabin Fever tournament. After finishing second in pool play, they took care of business Sunday morning beating Edina forcing a re-match Sunday afternoon. The Skippers beat the Huskies 4-0 climbing the ladder of the YHH rankings to the second spot, setting up a 1 vs. 2 matchup Tuesday.

The game was as good as advertised. After losing to the Eagles in the Duluth Icebreaker championship, the Skippers had a lot to prove to their neighbors to the south.
Eden Prairie struck first when Eagle sensation Taylor Koeppl scored the first of her three goals on the first shot of the game. After the Koeppl goal, the Skippers took control of the first period scoring three goals in two minutes to give Tonka a 3-1 lead after the first period.
The Eagles would push back getting an important goal from Koeppl to start the period and a short handed goal from standout Sydney Jackel. Down by a goal to start the third, Koeppl would notch the Hatty to tie the score at four. Tonka would strike back dropping two back to back goals by Dylan Berman and Katherine Manning to put the Eagles away at 6-4.
