Edina looks toward a berth to state at 12A

Gwen Hendrickson scores for Edina in their 8-0 win over Shakopee

15A Roseau and Proctor/Hermantown face-off Sunday in Duluth, Proctor snuck by T10 Rapids and may have to again in the play-in game later. Anoka, NWC, Edina and Wayzata have all punched tickets to state, they play for seeds on Sunday morning.

12A Same story in the 12 Olympic up north, Roseau and Procter/Hermantown play for spot to state. The loser of that matchup should be favored in their play-in game. Edina, Tonka and Andover are in...they play for seeding on Sunday. Centennial and Orono/Westonka played six periods without a winner, the resume on Sunday morning. The winner is headed to state and a seeding game with Andover and the loser will likely face a very hungry OMG team for the final spot to state.

12A The game of the day had to be OMG's battle with #2 Andover. The Leafbirds out hustled and outscored the Huskies halfway through the game taking a 4-1 lead. After cutting the lead to 4-1, Andover cut the lead to 4-2 to keep the game within reach. With just over 6:00 to go in the second Gabbie Krause won a face-off and fired a wrist shot past OMG Goalie Donna Fowler. That is all we know for sure. The puck hit some iron. The Huskies thought it hit back iron and temporarily so did OMG, until they realized that a goal was not counted. They then took the puck the length of the ice for a two on zero break that was not converted. After a minute of play and a stoppage, the referees met and reversed the call and credited Krause with the goal (4-3). The Huskies scored two quick goals in the third to go up 6-4, one by Sara Kaiser and the other by Maddie Kaiser (no relation) to ice the game.

Does this puck go in? After much discussion, it was counted a goal

Wayzata beats NE Metro Saturday 4-1
