Watch out for Greenway in Bantam A

Bantam POTY finalist Jack Bayless from Minnetonka stares down one of his goals this year

First Round Winners (AA)

Eden Prairie > Wayzata

Moorhead > Rochester

Minnetonka > Elk River

Cloquet > Blaine

Commentary: Some serious heavyweights in the field this year with four or five teams with a legitimate chance at the title. Talent-wise Tonka is the favorite, but only by a nose.

EGF will bring a wave of players at you like Carter Beck

First Round Winners (A)

Orono > Edina

East Grand Forks > Virginia

Burnsville > Mounds View Irondale

Greenway > Warroad

Commentary: Some great first round matchups...the 9:00 am game between Edina and Orono will be fantastic, look for the winner of that game to face red hot Burnsville for the title.

Both Edina teams will challenge in Moorhead

First Round Winners (B)

Orono White > Edina White

Brainerd > Elk River

Rosemount > Edina Green

Rogers > River Lakes

Commentary: Much like the Bantam A, the Orono White and Edina White game in Moorhead will be fantastic, the winner will likely get #1 and undefeated Brainerd in the semis. The Warriors look to be too much for the field this weekend.

Bantam A Burnsville Orono Orono
Bantam B Brainerd Elk River Rosemount

Elk River big man Joe Greniuk will need to be stopped this weekend or the Elks may win state

First Round Winners (AA)

Edina > Osseo Maple Grove

Eden Prairie > Cloquet

Prior Lake > Elk River

Park Cottage Grove > Duluth East

Commentary: The game of the day is #2 Edina vs. #1 OMG, the winner will be favored to win the whole thing. The rest of the field is just waiting in the weeds...teams like EP, Prior Lake, Elk River and PCG all have the weapons to surprise.

Carter Oftedahl is a goal scoring force for Mound Westonka

First Round Winners (A)

JCNSP > Edina

East Grand Forks > Duluth Denfeld

Mound Westonka > Mankato

North Branch > Alexandria

Commentary: Some great first rounders in Coleraine...JCNSP is going to get all they can handle. In the bottom, Mound Westonka and Mankato face off in a rematch of the Founders Cup semi where the Whitehawks won in a shootout and North Branch will face Alex in a very even game.

First Round Winners (B)

Edina White > Osseo Maple Grove

Hallock > Elk River

Edina Green > Park Cottage Grove

Champlin Park > Morris-Benson

Commentary: Wow, if you look closely, the top three teams in the state are in the top half of the bracket. Edina White's loss to Green in regions throws them against OMG (eery similarity to the PWAA where #1 faces #2 in the first round). Edina Green is the highest rated team in the bottom...giddyup!!!

Wayzata beats NE Metro in the regions...both will be tough outs come state

First Round Winners (15A)

Rochester > Roseau

North Wright County > Northeast Metro

Anoka-Rogers > Proctor-Hermantown

Edina > Wayzata

Commentary: The bottom bracket has the three top teams in the state (Edina, Anoka and Wayzata)...North Wright has no cakewalk up top either. The Roseau/Rochester game should be a great game.

Andover is one of the teams to beat come state 12A

First Round Winners (12A)

Osseo Maple Grove > Proctor-Hermantown

Andover > Chaska Chanhassen

Edina > Warroad

Minnetonka > Centennial

Commentary: If all teams hold serve in the first round, some great potential matchups in the semis. Tonka and Edina know each other really well. OMG and Andover know a thing or two about one another as well. The ultimate clash will likely be between juggernauts Andover and Edina in the finals.

Watch out for Edina in 12A...can they beat Andover (and the computer)?
