Michael Mancinelli, Compuware
Alex Sakadinsky, Colorado Thunderbirds
Teams: (1) Shattuck-St. Mary's, (10) Colorado Thunderbirds, (8) Compuware, (36) Team Alaska
Projected to Advance: Shattuck and Colorado
Players to Watch: Michael Mancinelli - Compuware (North Dakota), Grant Silianoff - Shattuck (Notre Dame), Robert Mastrosimone (Boston University), and Braden Doyle (Boston University).
The Sabres are the team to beat this year...their team is laden with Division I commits, both committed and uncommitted. The battle for the second slot looks to be between Compuware and the T-Birds.
Braden Doyle, Shattuck St. Mary's
Kristoff Papp, Belle Tire
Teams: (3) Little Caesars, (6) Belle Tire, (11) Team Illinois and (28) Team North Dakota

Three great teams with Little Caesars, Belle Tire and TI. Caesars won the Silver Stick, Belle won the Bauer Invite and TI played Shattuck to a tie. North Dakota has some talented players for a before/after team and will compete.
Anthony Stranges, Little Caesars
Trevor Kuntar, Buffalo Jr. Sabres
Teams: (4) New Jersey Colonials, (7) Boston Jr. Eagles, (13) Buffalo Jr. Sabres and (29) LA Jr. Kings
Projected to Advance: NJ Colonials and Boston Jr. Eagles

This pool is pretty top heavy with BJE and the Colonials. The Tier 1 Elite Sabres and Kings could pose a challenge or two this weekend. They just aren't as deep. With only one game a day in pool play, don't be surprised if there is an upset or two.
Sahil Panwar, LA Jr. Kings
Austen Swankler, Pittsburgh Pens Elite
Teams: (2) Chicago Mission, (5) Mid Fairfield Jr. Rangers, (23) Pittsburgh Pens Elite, and (26) TPH Thunder
Projected to Advance: Chicago Mission and Mid Fairfield
Players to Watch: Luke Toporowski - Chicago Mission (Uncommitted), Dylan Davies - Chicago Mission (Uncommitted), TJ Koufis - Chicago Mission (Uncommitted), Noah Henry - TPH Thunder, Spencer Knight - Mid Fairfield (Boston College), Trevor Zegras - Mid Fairfield (Uncommitted) and Austen Swankler - Pittsburgh Pens Elite (Uncommitted).
Pool D is similar to C, very top heavy with Mission and Fairfield. TPH and Pittsburgh each have a super star that is capable of taking over a game. The list of talented players in this pool will be fun to watch. Toporowski is a sure fire top ten pick in next month's WHL draft.
Projected Quarterfinals
Shattuck-St. Mary's (A1) > Belle Tire (B2)
Chicago Mission (D1) >. Boston Jr. Eagles (C2)
Little Caesars (B1) > Colorado TB (A2)
NJ Colonials (C1) > Mid Fairfield (D2)
Comments: Like the 16U, Minor Midget quarterfinals - some great do or die action between some heavy weight Tier 1 programs. The most interesting game is Shattuck versus either Belle Tire or Little Caesars, two of top three teams in the country. Same with the flip side A/B matchup at the bottom of the bracket between Little Caesars/Belle Tire and the Thunderbirds.
Projected Semifinals
Shattuck > Mission
Little Caesars > NJ Colonials
Comments: Shattuck is too deep and too skilled for the Mission. Caesars over the Colonials in a nail biter. These games will be fun to watch
Projected Finals
Shattuck > Little Caesars
Comments: at this point of the projection process it is mostly fantasy...but let's be clear, we think Shattuck and Caesars (or Belle Tire) are the two best teams. The winner of Caesars/Belle should skate to the finals, where Shattuck has a tougher road with Caesars/Belle loser and then Mission.
Owen Pietila, Belle Tire
